About Warwick Workout

Warwick Workout is a fitness centre incorporating a fully equipped 500 square metre gym with group fitness services. Warwick Workout is located on the corner of Warwick and Wanneroo Roads within the expanded Warwick Stadium complex.

About Us

The gym opened in December 2015 with a vision of reaching the community beyond the traditional basketball services provided by Warwick Stadium.

To date Warwick Workout has assisted individuals, schools, and community groups with fitness programs. Several amateur and professional sporting teams make use of Warwick Workouts elite strength and conditioning programs and fitness testing services. Our members come from all walks of life and include professional athletes, families, and students.

Taking the decision to join a gym is a big step. At Warwick Workout we take the time to discuss your needs in detail before you make a start. Regardless of whether you have experience in the gym or are trying it for the first time you are welcome at Warwick Workout. The professional trainers at Warwick Workout live our motto of ‘Life, Fit, Community’.

Group Fitness programs are on offer to give you great opportunities to increase your well-being through both physical exercise and engaging in a positive and supportive environment together with others.

We have invested in some fantastic brand new equipment from Life Fitness and Hammer Strength for you to enjoy and utilise to take the next step forward in your fitness journey.

Marcus has a passion for sport which began as a youngster. As a junior he represented W.A. in Gymnastics on a tour of Singapore.

A year later he represented W.A. again as a long and triple jumper at the National Little Athletics Championships in Adelaide.

Marcus is one of a small group who has completed three 20km solo Rottnest Channel Swims achieving this in 2007, 2008, and 2011.

As a teenager Marcus discovered basketball which remains a passion today.

Initially a keen junior player Marcus now enjoys coaching and encouraging young players. Prior to joining Warwick Workout Marcus worked in retail business and area in which he has over 20 years’ experience. He has presented the Western Australian of the Year Award for Sport in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.

Dr Laurence Houghton has a wealth of knowledge and practical experience working in strength and conditioning.

Laurence graduated from Loughborough University (the spiritual home of Sports Science in the UK) with first class Honours in Sport Science.

In 2006 he made the move to Australia and completed his Master of Science in Sport Physiology at The University of Western Australia (UWA) followed by his PhD which included physiology, biomechanics and strength and conditioning.

He has worked as strength and conditioning coach for ACE Cricket Academy, UWA (2009-2014) and interim strength and conditioning coach at Northants County Cricket Club, UK (2012).

Dr Loz continues to strive for excellence in the application of sport science through the delivery of strength and conditioning services. He has completed his ISAK skinfold assessment Level 1, Australian Weightlifting Federation State Coach (Level 2) courses and is a Level 2 Accredited Australian Strength & Conditioning Professional coach.

Laurence has a love of sport and fitness stemming from his early teenage years including cricket, hockey, running, indoor rowing championships and weightlifting. If you see Laurence around the gym have a chat and see how he can help you achieve your goals.



Esther has been a mentor in a large online fitness community called Precision Nutrition Lean Eating Course, she’s worked in teaching and aged care both of which fuelled her passion and interest for improving lives through intelligent exercise, nutrition and life balance.

Seeing people move towards a richer experience of life is more than a career for Esther.

She’s excited about the discoveries we are currently making about the connection between exercise and cognitive ability, mental health, protection and recovery from disease not to mention improved function and participation in LIFE!

Shab’s passion for sports began with basketball, when as a teenager she played professionally for Tehran’s ladies league.

She continued her journey through fitness as a Les Mills group fitness instructor and trainer, teaching up to five programs in Tehran, Dubai, London and Perth.

Shab studied graphic design and animation in her early 20s then, lead by her passion for healthy living, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Sports science from, Curtin University, Western Australia

Shab uses her cross-cultural experience working in different countries to motivate, inspire and challenge people to achieve their fitness goals and lead sustainable healthy lifestyles.

Sport has been an important aspect of Julian’s life ever since he was young. Julian has competed in various sports such as Taekwondo, Swimming and Basketball and won numerous accolades in the process. Julian’s passion for basketball blossomed after migrating to Australia at a young age. He attended St. Norbert College and was a part of the basketball program and had the opportunity to represent the school on a tour to the USA.

Julian completed his practicum at Warwick Workout in 2018 under the supervision of Dr. Laurence Houghton and completed his Level 1 Australian Strength & Conditioning Professional coach accreditation in the process.

Graduating in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise, Sports and Rehabilitation Science at Curtin University. Julian continues to further his knowledge and is undertaking a honours research at Curtin University. Julian’s research is on the effects of physique on change of direction speed in invasion sport athletes. Results from this study has the potential to impact talent identification processes, player position selections and tactics on the field or court.
